Necrobinder Cards
The Necrobinder has 88 cards in Slay the Spire 2's main-branch game data (v0.107.1): 4 Basic, 20 Common, 36 Uncommon, 26 Rare and 2 Ancient, 2 of them for multiplayer only. They build around Osty and Summon, Doom, Souls and Ethereal cards.
The Necrobinder has 88 cards in Slay the Spire 2: 4 Basic starter cards, 20 Common, 36 Uncommon, 26 Rare and 2 Ancient, counted from the game's own data for the main branch, v0.107.1 (Spire Codex, game data v0.107.1, read Oct 26, 2026). Two of them, Legion of Bone and Glimpse Beyond, appear only in co-op. Her cards Summon Osty, her giant hand, or have him attack ("Osty deals X damage"), apply Doom, add Souls, or play with Ethereal; each is explained on Necrobinder. Slay the Spire 2 is in Early Access, so these numbers still change: each table names the patches that changed a card, and marks public-beta changes that are not on the main branch. How guides build her is on Necrobinder Guide.

How to read the tables
Each table gives a card's cost, type, text and upgraded text as the game's files hold them on the main branch. A cost such as "2 (1)" is 2 Energy, 1 upgraded, and "Same; cost 1" means the upgrade changes only the cost. Text is from Spire Codex, a community database read from the game's files, which Mega Crit named among "community projects that collect their own stats and provide data" in its May 2026 Neowsletter. Mobalytics' card list drops the Energy icons from its text, so its numbers are not used here.
The "Changes by patch" column links Mega Crit's notes. Changes from v0.100.0 to v0.107.0 reached the main branch with Major Update #2, v0.107.1 on Jun 19, 2026. Changes marked "(beta)", from v0.108.0 (Jul 3, 2026) to v0.111.0 (Aug 14, 2026), are on the opt-in public beta only.
Basic cards
The Necrobinder's four starter cards are her Strike, Defend, Bodyguard and Unleash. Bodyguard Summons Osty for 5 HP, and Unleash has Osty hit for 6 plus his current HP, so the two work together from the first fight; her relic Bound Phylactery adds Summon 1 at the start of each turn.

Ancient cards
The Necrobinder's two Ancient cards are Protector and Forbidden Grimoire (Spire Codex). Protector is the Ancient form of her starter Unleash, per PCGamesN's Necrobinder guide, which puts it in S tier; it scales with Osty's Max HP where Unleash scales with his current HP. Ancient cards come from the Ancients, not card rewards: the Ancient relic Archaic Tooth transforms "a starter card into an Ancient version" (Mega Crit's v0.103.0 notes). The Ancients are on Neow and the Ancients.
| Card | Cost | Type | Effect | Upgraded | Keywords | Changes by patch |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Forbidden Grimoire | 2 (1) | Power | At the end of combat, you may remove a card from your Deck. | Same; cost 1 | Eternal | |
| Protector | 1 (0) | Attack | Osty deals 10 damage. Deals additional damage equal to Osty's Max HP. | Osty deals 15 damage. Deals additional damage equal to Osty's Max HP. |

Cards the Necrobinder creates
Two tokens come from her cards and are not in her card pool. Souls come from Reave, Grave Warden, Capture Spirit, Severance, Dirge, Seance and the multiplayer card Glimpse Beyond, and Sweeping Gaze comes from Sentry Mode (Spire Codex). Her relic Funerary Mask adds 3 Souls at the start of each combat (Spire Codex, relics).

| Soul | 0 | Skill | Draw 2 cards. | Draw 3 cards. | Exhaust | Reave, Grave Warden, Capture Spirit, Severance, Dirge, Seance, Glimpse Beyond |

Beta-only multiplayer cards
The public beta has three more Necrobinder cards, all for co-op and none on the main branch, added in v0.108.0 (Jul 3, 2026). The same patch made Legion of Bone stop Exhausting on the beta.

|---|---|---|---|---|
| Underworld | Uncommon | 2 | Skill | Whenever other players deal attack damage this turn, apply that much Doom. Exhaust. (The upgrade loses Exhaust.) |
| Soulbound | Uncommon | 1 | Power | Innate. Choose an ally. Whenever you create a Soul, add a Soul to their Draw Pile. |

Key cards by archetype
PCGamesN names three Necrobinder archetypes, Souls, Osty and Doom (PCGamesN's Necrobinder guide, Apr 7, 2026). The lists below are each guide's, not a ranking of our own.
Souls. PCGamesN's Souls build takes Grave Warden, Reave and Graveblast early, then Capture Spirit, Dirge, Haunt and Severance, and Death March, Soul Storm, Spirit of Ash and Devour Life by Act 3. TheGamer says new players overlook Souls and should take Capture Spirit, Severance and Grave Warden first (TheGamer, Mar 10, 2026).
Osty. PCGamesN's Osty build takes Bodyguard, Afterlife, Spur and Necro Mastery, the attacks Fetch, Flatten, Right Hand Hand and Rattle, and Squeeze as a finisher; it names Fetch into Flatten (which then costs 0) into Rattle as a combo for 29 damage on one Energy. Mobalytics' Osty deck adds Pull Aggro, Snap, High Five, Reanimate and Sic 'Em (Mobalytics, Mar 13, 2026).
Doom. PCGamesN's Doom build takes Negative Pulse, Defy and Enfeebling Touch early, stalls with Invoke, Borrowed Time and Delay, and adds Deathbringer, End of Days, Shroud and Reaper Form in Act 2. Mobalytics' Doom payoffs are Death's Door, End of Days, No Escape, Oblivion, Shroud and Time's Up, and Pocket Tactics' Doom build is Scourge, Negative Pulse, Blight Strike, No Escape and End of Days (Pocket Tactics, Sep 30, 2026).
Best Necrobinder cards, by tier list
The tier lists disagree sharply, so each is given with its date. PCGamesN's Necrobinder tier list (Apr 7, 2026) puts 13 cards in S: Graveblast, Borrowed Time, Dirge, Cleanse, Dredge, Haunt, Soul Storm, Squeeze, Seance, Neurosurge, Devour Life, Spirit of Ash and Protector; its D tier is Poke, Scourge, Countdown, Danse Macabre, Sleight of Flesh, Eidolon and Call of the Void (PCGamesN).
Mobalytics' card tier list (Aug 12, 2026) has 21 Necrobinder cards in S, among them Demesne, Friendship, Neurosurge, Call of the Void, Sleight of Flesh, Danse Macabre, Reaper Form, Banshee's Cry, Dirge and Spirit of Ash, and puts Bury, Soul Storm, Graveblast and Fear in D (Mobalytics). Graveblast and Soul Storm are S for PCGamesN and D for Mobalytics, and Call of the Void, Sleight of Flesh and Danse Macabre the other way round.
Pocket Tactics' best Necrobinder cards (Jun 29, 2026) are Dirge, Eradicate, No Escape, End of Days, Neurosurge and Hang, the last strong against single bosses and Elites (Pocket Tactics). Dirge and Neurosurge are the cards all three lists rate highly. The cross-character view is on Card Tier List.
Unlocking Necrobinder cards
Nine Necrobinder cards are locked until Epochs are earned with her, per Spire Codex, epochs. The 12 (beat Act 1 as the Necrobinder) adds Scourge, Oblivion and Countdown; The Giant (kill 15 Elites with her) adds Afterlife, Sacrifice and Calcify; To Kill (beat Ascension 1 with her) adds Sculpting Strike, Veilpiercer and Banshee's Cry. The Timeline is on Unlocks and the Timeline.

NecrobinderThe Necrobinder is a new character in Slay the Spire 2, "A Spireborn lich who seeks revenge" who fights beside her giant hand Osty, unlocked by playing one run as the Regent. She starts with 66 HP, the lowest of the five, 99 Gold, 3 Energy, the relic Bound Phylactery (Summon 1 at the start of each turn) and 4 Strike, 4 Defend, Bodyguard and Unleash. -
Necrobinder GuideThe Necrobinder is one of Slay the Spire 2's two new characters, with 66 HP, the lowest of the five, and Bound Phylactery (Summon 1 at the start of your turn). Guides build her around Osty, her giant hand that soaks damage, Souls for card draw, or Doom, and disagree on whether she is the easiest character or a weak one.

Neow and the AncientsAncients are the beings who greet you at the start of each act in Slay the Spire 2 and offer three relics to choose one: Neow at the start of the run, Orobas, Pael or Tezcatara in Act 2, Nonupeipe, Tanx or Vakuu in Act 3, and Darv in either. They heal you on arrival and replace the first game's boss relics; Neow alone has 28 possible blessings on the main branch v0.107.1. -
Multiplayer CardsSlay the Spire 2 has 21 multiplayer-only cards on the main branch v0.107.1, two for each character and 11 colorless, such as Knockdown, Flanking and Rally, which only appear in co-op runs and target allies. The opt-in public beta adds 16 more (15 in v0.108.0 and Tutor in v0.109.0).

Card Tier ListThere is no single Slay the Spire 2 tier list: PCGamesN (Apr 28, 2026) and Pocket Tactics (Oct 5, 2026) both rank the Silent best, but they disagree on the Ironclad and Necrobinder, and PCGamesN's (Apr 2026) and Mobalytics' (Aug 12, 2026) card lists put cards such as Body Slam, Demon Form and Graveblast at opposite ends.

Unlocks and the TimelineSlay the Spire 2 unlocks its characters in a chain by playing one run (win or lose) with each: the Ironclad unlocks the Silent, then the Regent, the Necrobinder and the Defect. Everything else (cards, relics, potions, Ancients, the Underdocks, Ascension, Daily and Custom runs) comes from 57 Epochs on the Timeline, earned by goals such as beating an act or by spending score; Daily and Custom runs earn none.
