Slay the Spire 2 1.0 release: Sep 2027Not announced: our best guess from Mega Crit's 1 to 2 year Early Access plan.
Best guessMega Crit's Early Access FAQ on Steam says it will stay in Early Access "Until the game feels great! Last time we thought it would be about a year and it took about 1.5 years. So perhaps in the same 1 - 2 year range." We count 18 months from the Mar 5, 2026 Early Access launch, as the first game took, to the first Thursday of Sep 2027 (Mega Crit ships on Thursdays) at 10 AM Pacific, the hour of the Early Access launch. Multiplayer Cards

Slay the Spire 2 has 21 multiplayer-only cards on the main branch v0.107.1, two for each character and 11 colorless, such as Knockdown, Flanking and Rally, which only appear in co-op runs and target allies. The opt-in public beta adds 16 more (15 in v0.108.0 and Tutor in v0.109.0).

Slay the Spire 2 has 21 multiplayer-only cards on the main branch v0.107.1: two for each of the five characters and 11 colorless cards, all flagged multiplayer-only in the game data and offered only in co-op runs. They help, buff or protect another player, from Knockdown ("The enemy takes double damage from other players this turn") to Rally ("ALL players gain 12 Block"). Mega Crit's launch post promised "multiplayer-specific cards, powerful team synergies" for its up-to-4-player online co-op, and on the opt-in public beta it has added 16 more since Jul 3, 2026. The game is in Steam Early Access, so the list is still growing.

How multiplayer cards work

Multiplayer cards are dealt only in co-op. PC Gamer's guide to the mode says the special multiplayer cards appear only in co-op, where each player still keeps their own deck, relics, potions and Gold. Each character's two join that character's card pool and the 11 colorless ones join the colorless pool.

They target allies in three ways. A card that says "another player" makes you pick one ally, like targeting an enemy (Lift, Believe in You, Demonic Shield; the game data marks these "AnyAlly"); a card that says "ALL players" hits everyone including you (Rally, Huddle Up, Energy Surge, Legion of Bone); and a third kind targets an enemy to set up the rest of the party (Knockdown, Flanking, Tag Team, Gang Up). Powers such as Beacon of Hope, Sneaky and Hammer Time sit on you and react to what the others do.

Teams play their turns at the same time, so timing matters. PC Gamer explains that players act at any point in the party's turn and all must press End Turn. Knockdown or Flanking has to land before the partners attack, and Mobalytics' co-op guide advises waiting for an ally's Vulnerable before attacking. See Co-op Strategy.

Legion of Bone gives everyone an Osty. Mobalytics' co-op guide describes it as giving everyone an Osty, the Necrobinder's skeletal hand, so each ally's Summon soaks up hits for them. Hammer Time shares the Regent's Forge: whenever the Regent Forges, every ally Forges too, and the in-game glossary, as Mobalytics quotes it, says the first Forge each combat adds a Sovereign Blade to that player's Hand.

Source: Spire Codex (game data, v0.107.1), read Oct 26, 2026. The rest of the colorless pool, which co-op players also draw from, is on Colorless Cards.

Knockdown is the co-op card players talk about most. PCGamesN's Nat Smith wrote on Mar 21, 2026 that Knockdown plus a partner's Defect Orbs took half of the Ceremonial Beast's HP in one turn.

Changes on the main branch

Four main-branch patches changed the multiplayer cards. The v0.100.0 beta (Mar 20, 2026), on main with Major Update #1 (Apr 17, 2026), made Beacon of Hope impossible to stack, cut Believe in You from 3(4) to 2(3) Energy and made Huddle Up Exhaust. The launch hotfix v0.98.2 (Mar 7, 2026) had already fixed "two active Beacon of Hope powers infinitely proccing each other".

Patch Change
v0.98.2 (Mar 7, 2026) Fixed two Beacon of Hope powers triggering each other without end
v0.100.0 (Mar 20, 2026) Beacon of Hope can no longer be stacked; Believe in You 3(4) to 2(3) Energy; Huddle Up now Exhausts and says "ALL players"
v0.103.0 (Apr 10, 2026) Flanking's text now says it doubles only attack damage
v0.104.0 (Apr 24, 2026) Tag Team's Replay also triggers on attacks that hit ALL enemies; Stratagem allowed back into the co-op colorless pool; Pillar of Creation, Supermassive and Arsenal trigger for the player who played Largesse
v0.105.0 (May 8, 2026) The colorless Gold Axe counts cards played by ALL players in co-op

The v0.104.0 and v0.105.0 changes reached the main branch with Major Update #2 (v0.107.1, Jun 19, 2026). All patches are on Patches and Updates.

New multiplayer cards on the public beta

These cards exist only on the opt-in public-beta branch, not on the main branch v0.107.1. Mega Crit added 15 in Beta Patch Notes v0.108.0 (Jul 3, 2026), three per character except two for the Regent, plus one colorless, and a 16th, the Regent's Tutor, in v0.109.0 (Jul 17, 2026). PCGamesN reported "15 new cards" that day.

Source: Mega Crit's beta patch notes linked in the table. The v0.108.0 notes write Constellation's Energy as an icon.

The same beta patch changed four main-branch multiplayer cards. v0.108.0 reworked Tank to "Take 50% additional damage from enemies. Allies take 50% less damage from enemies.", made Flanking Rare and Ignition Uncommon, removed Exhaust from Legion of Bone, and raised Beacon of Hope's cost from 1 to 2. It also nerfed enemy Block scaling in two-player games. On the main branch all five cards still read as in the tables above.

The beta also opened single-player cards and potions to co-op. v0.109.0 reworked the Silent's Well-Laid Plans and made it "available in multiplayer, was previously singleplayer-only", and says "You can now play nearly any potion on another player".

PCGamesN's Ken Allsop warned about the new cards' manners. Writing on Jul 3, 2026, he said many of them need you to tell teammates before playing them and that Outrage can clutter a teammate's carefully built deck.

How guides rank them

Mobalytics ranks the main-branch multiplayer cards in its own tier list. Its card tier list (updated Aug 12, 2026) puts Knockdown, Flanking, Beacon of Hope, Rally, Glimpse Beyond, Energy Surge and Huddle Up in S; Hammer Time, Gang Up, Sneaky, Tag Team, Believe in You, Mimic and Largesse in A; Demonic Shield and Lift in B; Legion of Bone, Ignition, Coordinate and Intercept in C; and Tank alone in D. That list predates any of the beta cards reaching main. Other published tier lists are compared on Card Tier List.
