Slay the Spire 2 1.0 release: Sep 2027Not announced: our best guess from Mega Crit's 1 to 2 year Early Access plan.
Best guessMega Crit's Early Access FAQ on Steam says it will stay in Early Access "Until the game feels great! Last time we thought it would be about a year and it took about 1.5 years. So perhaps in the same 1 - 2 year range." We count 18 months from the Mar 5, 2026 Early Access launch, as the first game took, to the first Thursday of Sep 2027 (Mega Crit ships on Thursdays) at 10 AM Pacific, the hour of the Early Access launch. Silent Cards

The Silent has 88 cards in Slay the Spire 2's main-branch game data (v0.107.1): 4 Basic, 20 Common, 36 Uncommon, 26 Rare and 2 Ancient, two of them for multiplayer only. This page lists every one with its cost, effect, upgrade and patch changes.

The Silent has 88 cards in Slay the Spire 2's main branch, v0.107.1: 4 Basic, 20 Common, 36 Uncommon, 26 Rare and 2 Ancient, as Spire Codex counts the game's files (game data, v0.107.1). Two of them, Flanking and Sneaky, appear only in co-op. Her pool mixes Shivs, Poison, discard and Sly, the keyword new in this game. The game is in Early Access and Mega Crit is still rebalancing her: the numbers here are the live main branch's, with changes from the opt-in public beta (v0.108.0 to v0.111.0, Jul 3 to Aug 14, 2026) labeled "beta only". Who the Silent is, her starting deck and her relics are on Silent; how to build with these cards is on Silent Guide.

How to read the tables

Each table gives a card's Energy cost, its type, its text on the main branch and its text once upgraded at a Rest Site. A cost written "2 (1)" drops to 1 when upgraded; X costs spend all your Energy. Keywords such as Sly, Innate and Exhaust stay on the upgraded card unless the Upgraded column says otherwise. The last column lists the balance changes Mega Crit has published since launch, each linked to its patch notes: a version without "beta only" is on the main branch, one marked "beta only" is on the opt-in public-beta branch and not yet in the live game.

Sly is the keyword to know first. The game's text reads "If this card is discarded from your Hand before the end of your turn, play it for free" (Spire Codex: keywords), and Mega Crit introduced it in its May 2025 Neowsletter as cards "automatically played for free when they are discarded". A Sly card is played for free when a discard effect such as Survivor, Prepared or Acrobatics sends it from your hand.

Card text is the game's own as Spire Codex reads it from the files, a community database that Mega Crit's May 2026 Neowsletter named among community projects. Some guide sites lag behind: Mobalytics' database still shows Grand Finale at 50 damage, which v0.100.0 raised to 60(75).

Basic cards

The Silent's four Basic cards make up her 12-card starting deck, the only starter of 12 cards: five Strikes, five Defends, Neutralize and Survivor (Spire Codex). PCGamesN's Silent guide (Apr 8, 2026) notes that Survivor is the starter deck's only way to trigger Sly.

Ancient cards

The Silent's two Ancient-rarity cards are Suppress and Wraith Form, and neither appears in ordinary card rewards (Spire Codex, game data, v0.107.1). They come from Ancient relics: Orobas's Archaic Tooth transforms "a starter card into an Ancient version" (Mega Crit's v0.103.0 notes, Apr 10, 2026), and Darv's Dusty Tome gives a character-specific Ancient card on pickup (OP.GG: Darv, beta v0.111.0 data). Who offers what is on Neow and the Ancients.

Suppress 0 Attack Innate. Deal 11 damage. Apply 3 Weak. Deal 17 damage. Apply 5 Weak.

Key cards by archetype

Guides agree on three Silent builds: Sly, Poison and Shiv. PCGamesN's Silent guide (Apr 8, 2026) calls Sly "the most powerful new keyword" and says it pairs with either of the others, while Poison and Shiv are hard to combine. The full build advice is on Silent Guide.

For Sly, PCGamesN picks Ricochet, Flick-Flack and Untouchable early, Acrobatics, Dagger Throw and Prepared for consistency, and Abrasive, Hand Trick, Reflex and Tactician later. PC Gamer's Harvey Randall ranks Sly the strongest Silent archetype ("just busted") but warns that Sly cards taken before reliable discard act like curses (PC Gamer, Jun 12, 2026). Kotaku's combo is Hand Trick on Hidden Daggers, with Master Planner to make every Skill Sly (Kotaku, Mar 18, 2026).

For Poison, PCGamesN starts with Poisoned Stab, Bouncing Flask and Noxious Fumes, adds Envenom, Corrosive Wave, Bubble Bubble and Haze, then Accelerant and Mirage. Randall calls Accelerant one Energy "to effectively double poison damage" (PC Gamer), while Mobalytics' JapaneseExport advises no Poison cards beyond Noxious Fumes and Bubble Bubble unless needed, so the deck can still block (Mobalytics, Jun 17, 2026).

For Shivs, PCGamesN takes Blade Dance, Cloak and Dagger, Finisher and Hidden Daggers early, then Accuracy, Fan of Knives and Knife Trap, and says some Shiv cards were toned down from the first game. Randall calls Shivs the most synergy-reliant build and pairs Blade of Ink with the Mystic Lighter relic, since its Inky Shivs count as enchanted Attacks (PC Gamer).

What tier lists say

Tier lists rank the Silent's cards differently, and each is dated. PCGamesN's Silent tier list (Apr 8, 2026) puts Acrobatics, Piercing Wail, Calculated Gamble, Expose, Footwork, Well-Laid Plans, Speedster, Adrenaline, Burst, Tools of the Trade, Abrasive, Serpent Form, Master Planner and Wraith Form in S tier, and Slice, Deflect, Snakebite, Backstab and Grand Finale in D tier.

Mobalytics' card tier list (updated Aug 12, 2026) has a longer S tier, from Adrenaline, Well-Laid Plans, Afterimage, Tools of the Trade and The Hunt to Footwork, Blade of Ink, Calculated Gamble, Malaise, Accuracy, Noxious Fumes, Piercing Wail, Abrasive, Expose, Leg Sweep, Tracking, Hidden Daggers, Prepared, Leading Strike, Blur, Phantom Blades and Backflip (plus the beta's Sidestep), and puts Speedster, Master Planner and Hand Trick in D. Pocket Tactics' best cards (updated Jun 29, 2026) names Accelerant, Shadow Step, Accuracy, Adrenaline and Calculated Gamble.

Mobalytics' guide singles out a few cards in strong words: Adrenaline is "The best of the best", Piercing Wail "one of the best cards in the entire game", Afterimage "one of the strongest cards in the game" and Tracking possibly the best physical damage multiplier (Mobalytics, Jun 17, 2026). Every character's cards are compared on Card Tier List.

Changes on the public beta

The public beta reworks several Silent cards that the live game has not received yet. On the opt-in public beta, v0.108.0 (Jul 3, 2026) raised Flick-Flack to 7(9) and Anticipate's upgrade to 4 Dexterity, softened Tracking from double damage to 50% more, moved Flanking to Rare and added three multiplayer cards: Blade Symphony, Concoct and Fade.

v0.109.0 (Jul 17, 2026, beta only) made Well-Laid Plans a Rare that stops you discarding your hand at all, reworked Expertise to "Draw 2(3) cards. They gain Retain this turn." and moved Accelerant to Uncommon. v0.110.0 (Jul 31, 2026, beta only) turned Haze into a 2-cost card that also applies Weak but lost Sly, made Outbreak a Rare 3-cost Skill that applies 9(12) Poison to ALL enemies and triggers it at once, renamed Scare to Sidestep ("Next turn, gain 1(2) Energy") and moved Echoing Slash to Uncommon. v0.111.0 (Aug 14, 2026, beta only) took the bonus damage off Blade of Ink's Inky Shivs and made Mirage Exhaust again. Mega Crit has not said when these reach the main branch.

Frequently asked questions

How many Silent cards are in Slay the Spire 2? The Silent has 88 cards in Slay the Spire 2's main-branch game data (v0.107.1): 4 Basic, 20 Common, 36 Uncommon, 26 Rare and 2 Ancient, as Spire Codex counts them. Two are multiplayer only, and the public beta adds three more co-op cards (v0.108.0).

What is the best Silent card in Slay the Spire 2? Guides disagree on the best Silent card in Slay the Spire 2. Mobalytics' Silent guide calls Adrenaline "The best of the best", PC Gamer's Harvey Randall says of it "see it, pick it" (PC Gamer), and PCGamesN's tier list (Apr 8, 2026) puts 14 cards in S tier.

What does Sly do in Slay the Spire 2? Sly makes a card play for free when it is discarded from your hand before the end of your turn, in Slay the Spire 2's own words (Spire Codex: keywords). The Silent's Sly cards include Flick-Flack, Ricochet, Untouchable, Haze, Reflex, Tactician and Abrasive.

What are the Silent's Ancient cards in Slay the Spire 2? The Silent's Ancient cards in Slay the Spire 2 are Suppress (0 Energy, Innate, 11 damage and 3 Weak) and Wraith Form (3 Energy, 2 Intangible, then lose 1 Dexterity each turn), per Spire Codex game data for v0.107.1. They come from Ancient relics such as Archaic Tooth and Dusty Tome, not from card rewards.

How much damage does a Shiv do in Slay the Spire 2? A Shiv deals 4 damage (6 upgraded) for 0 Energy and Exhausts in Slay the Spire 2 (Spire Codex, game data, v0.107.1). Accuracy adds 4(6) to every Shiv and Phantom Blades adds 9(12) to the first each turn.

Why was Acrobatics moved to Uncommon in Slay the Spire 2? Mega Crit moved Acrobatics from Common to Uncommon in v0.103.0 (Apr 10, 2026) because it was "completely dominating both win rates and pick rates". The change reached the main branch in Major Update #1 on Apr 17, 2026.

What happened to Prepared in Slay the Spire 2? Mega Crit replaced Prepared with a card called Prepare in beta v0.100.0, then brought Prepared back a week later in v0.101.0, saying it "is so integral to the Silent's core identity". In Slay the Spire 2 it costs 0: draw 1(2), discard 1(2).
