Colorless Cards
Slay the Spire 2 has 64 Colorless cards on its main branch (v0.107.1), 39 Uncommon and 25 Rare, that any character can use; 11 of them appear only in co-op. You get them from the Merchant (2 a visit), Neow's Lead Paperweight, events, relics such as Dingy Rug and Toolbox, and cards that create them, such as Jack of All Trades and the Regent's.
Slay the Spire 2 has 64 Colorless cards on its live main branch, v0.107.1: 39 Uncommon and 25 Rare, which any of the five characters can use, by the count of the game data that Spire Codex reads. Mega Crit described them as cards "that any character can make use of" when it previewed the set in its July 2025 Neowsletter, saying it made "a bunch of new Colorless cards", tweaked old ones and changed "some old cards to now be Colorless". You do not find them in normal card rewards: they come from the Merchant, from events and Neow, from a few relics and from cards that create them. Eleven of the 64 appear only in co-op. The game is in Early Access, so numbers are the main branch's, with public-beta changes labeled.

Where Colorless cards come from
The Merchant is the steady source. Game Rant says each shop sells 5 character cards, 2 Colorless cards, 3 relics, 3 potions and a card removal (Game Rant); Merchant and Rest Sites covers prices.
Neow, events and relics give more. Neow's blessing Lead Paperweight lets you choose 1 of 2 Colorless cards at the start of a run (OP.GG, beta v0.111.0 data). The Brain Leech event's "Rip the Leech Off" costs 5 HP for a Colorless card reward, and the Endless Conveyor's Fried Eel sells one for 40 Gold (OP.GG). The Shop relic Dingy Rug lets card rewards contain Colorless cards, Toolbox offers 1 of 3 at the start of each combat, and the Regent's Orange Dough adds 2 random Colorless cards to your Hand at the start of each combat (OP.GG, beta v0.111.0 data). The Colorless Potion offers 1 of 3 for one turn (OP.GG).
Cards create them in combat. Jack of All Trades adds 1 random Colorless card to your Hand (2 upgraded), and the Regent's Quasar, Bundle of Joy, Manifest Authority and Spectrum Shift make them too (game data). Mobalytics' Regent guide says "Colorless cards are very powerful in spire 2," so even one source of card generation outscales most fights (Mobalytics). The Regent's Cosmic Concoction potion adds 3 Upgraded Colorless cards (OP.GG).
Some must be unlocked first. Five score Epochs on the Timeline each add three: Preon (Automation, Entropy, Catastrophe), The Architect (Eternal Armor, Jackpot, Prep Time), Traitors (Rend, Beat Down, Prowess), Slumber (Alchemize, Nostalgia, Scrawl) and Buy Something! (Splash, Anointed, Calamity), per Spire Codex. Unlocks and the Timeline lists the Epochs.

Costs read "1 (0)" for a card that costs 0 once upgraded. Changes from v0.100.0 to v0.106.0 are live on the main branch; those marked beta are on the opt-in public beta only. Beta v0.108.0 (Jul 3, 2026) also added a twelfth co-op Colorless card, The Ball: "Deal 10 damage. Increase this card's damage by 15(25) this combat and give it to a random ally." (+10(15) since beta v0.109.0). It is not on the main branch.
Multiplayer Colorless cards
Eleven Colorless cards are offered only in co-op, because they act on other players: Beacon of Hope, Believe in You, Coordinate, Gang Up, Huddle Up, Intercept, Knockdown, Lift, Mimic, Rally and Tag Team (game data). Several were cut back after launch. v0.100.0 (Mar 20, 2026) stopped Beacon of Hope stacking, lowered Believe in You from 3(4) to 2(3) Energy and made Huddle Up Exhaust; v0.105.0 made Gold Axe count cards played by ALL players in co-op. PCGamesN's Nat Smith found Knockdown paired with a partner's Defect Orbs took half of the Ceremonial Beast's HP in one turn (PCGamesN). Multiplayer Cards covers every co-op card.
Event and Ancient cards
Event cards are a separate group from the Colorless pool: any character can get them, from events and Ancients rather than card rewards. The game data lists 19 (Spire Codex):

Mega Crit has not said where every Event card can appear. Events gives every event's choices.

Best Colorless cards, as guides name them
Mega Crit's own favorites came first. Before launch Anthony Giovannetti called Rolling Boulder "an inevitable powerhouse and one of my favorite new cards to build around" and said Thrumming Hatchet's consistency "is surprisingly strong" (July 2025 Neowsletter). Rolling Boulder's damage was then "slashed in half" before launch, and Gold Axe lost Exhaust and got cheaper (January 2026 Neowsletter).
Pocket Tactics (Jun 29, 2026) names Automation, Scrawl, Production, Panic Button, Equilibrium and Stratagem as the best Colorless cards (Pocket Tactics). Mobalytics' Defect Claw deck uses Flash of Steel, Panache and Secret Weapon (Mobalytics). Card Tier List compares the full lists.

Merchant and Rest SitesIn Slay the Spire 2 the Merchant sells 5 character cards, 2 Colorless cards, 3 relics, 3 potions and one card removal per visit, and Rest Sites let you Rest to heal or Smith to Upgrade a card, with more actions from relics. Card removal gets 25 Gold dearer each time, and from Ascension 6 (Inflation) it starts at 100 Gold and rises by 50; Mega Crit has not published the base removal price or the Rest heal amount. -
RegentThe Regent is one of the two new characters in Slay the Spire 2, the "Heir to the Throne of Stars", unlocked by playing one run as the Silent. He starts with 75 HP, 99 Gold, 3 Energy, the relic Divine Right (3 Stars at the start of each combat) and a 10-card deck of 4 Strike, 4 Defend, Falling Star and Venerate.

Unlocks and the TimelineSlay the Spire 2 unlocks its characters in a chain by playing one run (win or lose) with each: the Ironclad unlocks the Silent, then the Regent, the Necrobinder and the Defect. Everything else (cards, relics, potions, Ancients, the Underdocks, Ascension, Daily and Custom runs) comes from 57 Epochs on the Timeline, earned by goals such as beating an act or by spending score; Daily and Custom runs earn none.

Multiplayer CardsSlay the Spire 2 has 21 multiplayer-only cards on the main branch v0.107.1, two for each character and 11 colorless, such as Knockdown, Flanking and Rally, which only appear in co-op runs and target allies. The opt-in public beta adds 16 more (15 in v0.108.0 and Tutor in v0.109.0).

EventsSlay the Spire 2 has 57 events in OP.GG's v0.111.0 beta data, plus 8 Ancients, met in ? rooms: shared events that can appear in several acts, and events tied to the Overgrowth, Underdocks, Hive or Glory. Each offers two or more choices, such as the Symbiote's Corrupted enchantment or Transform, and the Lantern Key that leads to an Act 3 reward. -
Neow and the AncientsAncients are the beings who greet you at the start of each act in Slay the Spire 2 and offer three relics to choose one: Neow at the start of the run, Orobas, Pael or Tezcatara in Act 2, Nonupeipe, Tanx or Vakuu in Act 3, and Darv in either. They heal you on arrival and replace the first game's boss relics; Neow alone has 28 possible blessings on the main branch v0.107.1.
